Step 4 - Confirm your LTI security settings

  1. Select the Settings cog from the top right-hand corner of the page.
  2. From the Admin Tools menu, select External Learning Tools.

  3. Ensure Manage External Learning Tool Links is selected.
  4. Select the blue Settings cog.
  5. Ensure that the following security settings are selected:
    • Allow sending tool consumer information to tool provider
    • Allow sending context information to tool provider
    • Allow sending course information to tool provider
    • Allow sending user ID to tool provider
    • Allow sending user email to tool provider
    • Allow sending system role to tool provider
    • Allow sending link title to tool provider
    • Allow sending link description to tool provider
  6. Select the Save and Close button to return to the External Learning Tools page.

  7. If your Turnitin integration has a slashed eye icon next to it, this means that this integration is hidden from your instructors. To make it visible, select the dropdown next to the integration and select Edit to open the integration settings. From here, select the option in the Visibility section.

  8. Select Manage Tool Providers.

  9. Select dropdown arrow next to api.turnitin.com and then Edit Tool Provider.

  10. Ensure that the following security settings are selected:

    • Send tool consumer information to tool provider
    • Send context information to tool provider
    • Send course information to tool provider
    • Send LTI user ID and LTI role list to tool provider
    • Send user name to tool provider
    • Send user email to tool provider
    • Send system username to tool provider
    • Send system Org Defined ID to tool provider
    • Send system role to tool provider
    • Send link title to tool provider
    • Send link description to tool provider
  11. Select the Save and Close button or the Save button.
