Using Multiple Integrations Concurrently

When using multiple Turnitin integrations within the same instance of Canvas, it is possible that students are counted multiple times and artificially increase your active student limit. For example, if you have one instructor using Canvas LTI in one department, and another instructor using Canvas Plagiarism Framework in another but they both have the same cohort of students we have no way of telling these students apart. However, there are a few things you can do to help us to ensure that we can help you manage your student limits.

  1. When first configuring your integration, we'd recommend starting by creating a sub-account in Turnitin. Creating a sub-account in this way will give you separate account IDs. As we are unable to distinguish between duplicate users, creating a sub-account for each integration makes it possible to distinguish between them should there be a need.
  2. Once your sub-accounts have been created and you've successfully configured your integration, contact your Turnitin account representative with the account IDs you are using for your integrations.
