Your Blackboard experience

Within Blackboard learn, there are three levels of user experience.

The first level is how your instance of Blackboard learn is hosted. The three available options are;

• Self hosted,
• Managed hosted,
• or Cloud hosted.

The second level is what experience you use with Blackboard. This is the look and feel of the interface. The two experiences are;

• The Original experience,
• or the Ultra experience.

If you are self hosted or managed hosted, you will be unable to use the Ultra experience.

The third level is the course view. The two course views are;

• Original course view,
• or Ultra course view.

If you are self hosted or managed hosted, you will be unable to use the Ultra course view.

Versions

If you are using the Turnitin Building Blocks (Blackboard Basic & Blackboard Direct v2.5) then all options are available for the first two levels. However, only Original course view is available on the third level.

If you are using LTI, all options are available for all levels. However, once you have moved to Ultra course view, you will be unable to move back to Original course view.
